IABC Colorado History
In its formative years, the Colorado group was part of an association of industrial editors that met at the Denver Press Club. The industrial editors national and international groups went through several identities between 1940 to the late 1960s. In 1970, ICIE and the American Association of Industrial Editors (AAIE) amalgamated to form the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). During the transition the local chapter name changed several times, finally becoming IABC Colorado. Not long after joining IABC, the energetic young chapter was host to the IABC World Conference in Denver. In the years since, IABC Colorado has hosted district and region conferences, in addition to regular education and networking events.
