President – Tobi Anderson

Tobi has over 15 years of experience in enterprise collaboration and communication, working in both internal and external consulting roles for various software firms, in her own consulting practice, and is now head of customer experience at Speakap. Additional experience includes L&D, organizational development, employee engagement, program and change management. She has a Master's in Organizational and Professional Communication from the University of Denver.

Past President – Deanna Geldens (she/her)

An accomplished senior-level marketing communications professional, Deanna has a proven track record of delivering compelling and strategic content across digital and social platforms. As senior communications manager for the Colorado Health Institute, she ensures that content is clear, compelling, and accessible across platforms. Deanna previously ran a consulting business specializing in communications for health care and higher education clients. She has a master’s degree in applied communications from the University of Denver and has served in various positions on the IABC Colorado board since 2015.

Vice President, Finance – Brenda Stidham Cohen

Brenda is a strategic communication leader with experience shaping employee programs, leading change initiatives, and guiding executive and organizational communication for global teams across diverse industries. A Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, she’s passionate about building communication strategies that connect people and drive meaningful progress. Brenda began her career in broadcast journalism, working as a news and sports reporter, anchor, and producer at TV stations in three states. She holds degrees in sports broadcasting and psychology from Indiana University.

Vice President, Administration – Heather Russell

Heather is a change management and communications leader with 30 years of experience driving organizational transformation for Fortune 500 companies, global enterprises, and large public sector clients. She is currently a Principal at Lync Consulting, where she provides change advisory and executive communications services to clients navigating complex enterprise transformations. She has held senior roles at Gartner, Ball Corporation, and Unisys, and has worked with clients including Chicago Public Schools, the Department of Defense, and the School District of Palm Beach County. Heather holds a Master of Arts in Communication from Bowling Green State University and is PROSCI Certified since 2004. She is a current member of IABC Denver.

Vice President, Membership – Christina Wootton (she/her)

Christina has been working on internal communications for about 25 years, specializing in publications (including websites and intranets), employee comms, social responsibility programs, consulting, project management and event planning. She is currently the Internal Communications Specialist at the Denver Public Library, and has worked for Quality Communications at Kimberly-Clark, IT Communications at Ford Motor Co., North American Internal Communications for Faurecia (now Forvia), and as Senior Project Manager and Writer for the Maestro Turgeon Group graphic design agency. Christina is a past winner of several IABC Detroit Renaissance awards, IABC Silver Quill Awards and a Gold Quill finalist. She was a board member for IABC Detroit (2013-2014) and a former member of IABC Detroit.

Co-Vice President, Professional Development – Lynn Zimmerman, ABC, SCMP® (she/her)

As CEO and Chief Strategist of Swing Strategic Communication, Lynn develops strategic communication solutions for large and small businesses that provide measurable results. She is experienced in all aspects of executive and internal communications, including change management, mergers and acquisitions, employee engagement, human resources, and community relations. In addition to her membership role, Lynn leads IABC Colorado's Consultants Special Interest Group. A veteran volunteer, she is a past chair of the Southern Region and served in various positions on the Kansas City IABC board, including president.

Co-Vice President, Professional Development – Amanda Peters, CMP (she/her)

Mandy is a marketing and communications professional experienced in creating and implementing global marketing and communications strategies to generate connection, increase brand awareness and expand market penetration. She offers a hands-on, collaborative approach to marketing with broad experience with internal and external outreach, print, web, email, public relations and social media. Mandy joined the IABC Colorado board last fall after earning her CMP certification.

Co-Vice President, Professional Development – Laurel Whitaker

With more than 20 years of global strategic communications experience, Laurel has advised executive leadership teams for complex organizations in financial services, technology, media, data/analytics, life sciences and healthcare and nonprofits. As communications manager and public information officer for Intermountain Health, Laurel ensures compelling and relevant messaging for associates and providers. Her areas of expertise are executive and employee communications, intranet strategy, change management, employer branding, benefits/wellness, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and corporate social responsibility.

Co-Vice President Communications – Madison Stout (she/her)

Madison is a marketing and communications specialist with more than six years of experience supporting internal communications, change initiatives, and culture‑driven storytelling. She currently serves as an Internal Communications Advisor at RES, where she partners with leaders and cross‑functional teams to develop strategic messaging, support enterprise initiatives, and deliver leader‑led communications such as town halls and internal campaigns. Madison brings a strong focus on accessibility and community engagement to her work. In addition to her professional role, she serves in volunteer leadership positions with professional and local organizations, supporting inclusive communications, events, and outreach efforts.

Co-Vice President, Communications - Alexis Moran-Moffatt

Alexis is a corporate communications leader with nearly eight years of experience driving executive communications, employee engagement, public relations, and strategic storytelling initiatives. She currently serves as Corporate Communications Manager at CentralSquare Technologies⁠, where she leads employee communications, executive messaging, and company-wide communications programs.

Prior to CentralSquare, Alexis held communications and marketing roles across media, events, and franchise organizations. She holds a master’s degree in Mass Communication from Stephen F. Austin State University and looks forward to supporting and engaging Colorado’s communications community through IABC Colorado.
