In this “post-truth” era, where online news is in, and print newspapers are out, one thing is certain: as they promote their clients’ or their company's brands, PR professionals need to work harder than ever to win the trust of journalists. A former news reporter who continues to pitch stories on behalf of leading companies and nonprofits, Dan will lead a discussion on tips and best practices to earn the media’s trust, one pitch at a time.

Meet the Speaker

Dan Wilinsky is a communications consultant and former news reporter with more than 30 years of experience in building and executing strategic public relations programs for national and global clients. His specialties include media relations, issues and crisis management, media training and digital communications. A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Dan has award-winning PR expertise over his career, representing leading brands and organizations such as AT&T, Boeing, Charlotte’s Web, CoBank, Children International, H&R Block, Hallmark, IHS Markit, Johnson & Johnson, Qualcomm and Sprint. Dan founded a Denver-based PR consultancy, Wilinsky Communications (, in late 2018.
